The introduction of new Information Technology, and standards such as those proposed by the Health Level Seven (HL7), enable the interoperability between software applications from different health organizations.

This work introduces an architecture for supporting medical activities, based on a framework that facilitates the use of standards and technology available to the health sector. This work uses HL7 to develop a central architecture and test it with a client Web developed for a Tablet PC and a light client for a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA).
